It seems just yesterday that Tate was still a baby. Oh wait, he was... But now, he has exploded into a toddler. He is saying words and picking up more words each day. He is making animal noises. Following simple directions. He LOVES shoes. He will bring us HIS shoes all day long, even if he is already wearing some. He will throw his dirty diapers away for us. He LOVES to read books, and will bring us books all day as well. He does some sign language, which we love. He is a pretty fun boy. (Except when it comes to bed time) We are still working on mastering the art of falling asleep in his own bed, on his own. Last night I was trying to get him to lay down to go to sleep. I would pat his pillow and say "Tate, lay down." He looked down at the pillow, then up at me and said "no." (In a high pitched, squeaky little baby voice.) It was so cute, and funny, and caught me completely off guard. I was trying not to laugh, and thinking please don't start that already.
Some of his favorite words to say are:
uh oh
oh no
no
see
go
cool
mama
dada
shoes
book
car
let's go
cow
dog
and a bunch of animal sounds
What a sweetie. He can also be a trouble maker though. He really likes to climb. We have to take him off the table about 10 times a day. (We've learned if we push the chairs in he can't get up. Now we are working on teaching the other kids to push their chairs in. Sequences.) He can also scale the SIDE of a chair. Picture a rock climber. He also loves the bathroom. There are drawers to play in, fancy white bowls full of water that is begging to be splashed all around. And rolls of fluffy paper that can unroll forever, and turn to mush in the bathtub...
