A few more funnies

The kids each had a funny moment this week. I figured I better share them before I forget them.

Dallin and I were driving in the car and we were talking about knowing where we are going, so we don't get lost. He said "no one should get lost as long as they have 'googoo maps'." Ya know, like Brian has a 'google maps' application on his phone. I guess everyone should have that.

We have a small fenced in yard at our town house. Right behind it is a large grassy hill that we have let the kids play on. Well, when I saw that the neighbor lets his great big doberman pinscher go out on this hill and do his business several times a day, I put a halt to playing on the hill. I really hate dog poop, and I don't want to clean it off of my kids or their shoes. So yesterday Brian is watching the kids out there and the neighbor happens to come out with the dog at the same time. Cody marched right over to the neighbor and said "Thanks for letting your dog poop out here so now I can't play here anymore." I wish I could have been there! Of course I'm sure the neighbor will not take a hint and start picking up after his dog, but it was funny.

Brylee wanted me to hold her, but with such a large belly in the way it gets kind of hard to hold her while I'm standing. So I told her "No, Mommy has a big belly right now. Have Daddy hold you, he doesn't have a big belly." She looked a little upset, and frustrated then said "Yes he does. Big belly right there!" (as she pointed to Brian) It was pretty funny. Brian and I couldn't stop laughing!

Hats

The other day I went downstairs to check on the kids and they were all laying on the bean bag watching a movie, typical. What was funny was that they had these hats on. I know it is cooler in the basement, but I don't think these hats were required! Just kids being silly.

Dress up

Brylee loves to play dress up! Thanks to our old friends, the Hill's in Merced, she has some Disney princess play clothes. There are about 4 different costumes that she has, but apparently it is most fun to wear all the costumes at the same time. So here she is, Tinkerbell, Sleeping beauty, Cinderella, and I'm not sure who else...
(don't the boots add just the right touch? And yes, some of the skirts are around her neck instead of her waist...)

Missouri Botanical Gardens

This weekend we took the kids to the MO Botanical Gardens. It doesn't sound like much fun for kids, but we had a great time. There were of course every kind of plant you can imagine, but the kids didn't care about that, surprise... However, there was also a childrens garden that had all kinds of things for the kids to play on. There were rope bridges, caves, giant beehives, big wood forts, slides, fountains, etc. There was also a dinosaur exhibit. It was inside a large dome that was supposed to be a rain forest. They had life size dinosaurs, with nests and eggs. The kids enjoyed that as well. The Japanese Garden was another place we were interested in visiting, of course. They had the biggest koi fish I have ever seen. The kids loved feeding the fish, in fact they didn't want to leave. Overall it was a great day, and what would have normally cost us $48 was FREE because we are St. Louis County residents! Love it!

Place your bets

I'm now 37 weeks, so technically this baby could come any time. However, I'm not acutally due until June 18th. I've been getting the kids input on when they think I will deliver and thought I would let the rest of you guys give your 2 cents as well. So leave a comment on here with your guess of the date and time that this baby boy will make his grand entrance into this world. Or you could send me an email. (For family- let the cousins take a stab at it as well!)
It seems there needs to be a prize for the closest guess, but I don't want to ship anything, so if you are the closest I will make you a homemade goodie of your choice. To be delivered the next time I see you. :)

Anyway, this will be fun for my family and I, so play along if you want to!

Baby Sling

I've never had a bady sling with any of my kids, and I'm thinking I want to try one out this time around. Can anyone recommend a good one, or tell me which ones aren't good. I prefer something on the cheaper side, and easy to find. Also, something easy to use. If it takes two people to get in on and get baby in, it won't do me any good. Thanks!

Funny kids

Some of the funny things the kids have been saying or doing.

Brylee:
"Not Mommy, Weia!"
"Brian" (instead of Daddy)
"I told you!"
"I get married in the temple, today!?"
"Me pretty 'gurl'?"
She likes to set the table. She likes to wear pink clothes.
She likes to pretend she is a either a frog or a puppy.
She loves to talk about baby Tate (our coming addition), and see all his clothes, blankets, bed, pacifiers, anything for baby. She found his carseat the other day and said "Brylee's carseat?" We said "No, that's baby Tate's now." She said "Umm, actually Brylee's." She likes to "actually" a lot. And she uses it correctly too. Also "rediculous" is a new word she likes to use.

Cody:
I was leaning back while sitting on the couch and Cody asked me why I had a fat chin. He then proceeded to laugh while he pointed out that I had two chins. Thanks Cody!
He describes things as being tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny.....
His dresser has 10 drawers. Five on each side, two small on top and then 3 bigger ones under the small ones. So one side is for him and the other side is going to be for baby Tate. Cody is rather upset that Tate is not getting his own dresser and that Cody is going to have to share. (Even though those 5 other drawers aren't even being used yet)

Dallin:
Thinks he knows everything. Or if he doesn't Daddy does. Mommy on the other doesn't know anything. He doesn't believe a word I say, and he tells me "Daddy knows better than you, huh?"
Likes to be a little daddy to Cody and Brylee. He thinks that he can enforce all the rules just as I would. Like give spankings if needed, or a lecture on why that was a bad choice.
He loves to laugh at things we laugh at.

They are always saying funny stuff, things I should be recording somewhere. But of course, now that I want to write it down I can't remember all the things they say. It will probably come to me in the middle of the night...

35 weeks

Well, I'm more than 35 weeks now. If this baby comes as soon as Dallin and Brylee did then we could be having a baby in about two weeks! My big dilema now is my doctor and hospital. I have a doctor I really like and a hospital I like, but they are in Springfield. My plan right now is to move myself and the kids back in with Brian's parents, in Springfield, for the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy and have the baby there. However, I really don't want to be away from Brian that long. Also, the kids are just getting settled in this house. Brylee is finally going to bed on her own, and she is working on sleeping through the night. I know if I take them out this environment we will mess all that up and I will have to start over when we get back. Only then I will have a baby to deal with too.
Or, do I try and find a new doctor here, who will take me for the last 4 weeks of pregnancy? I would much rather be in my own house and have the kids in their own space during this final stretch. But do I risk getting a doctor that I won't like? I did get a reference from my new RS president for a good OB/GYN here in the St. Louis area. I will call tomorrow to see if they will take me. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that they will. Definitely not an ideal situation, trying to switch doctors this late in pregnancy, but I've gotta try and see what they say. :)

Family Council

We had our first family council tonight. We wrote down some house rules for the kids, in an attempt to get things a little under control. We also decided on the consequences for breaking the rules. We are tyring Supper Nanny's approach with the naughty chair. Within the first 20 minutes of making the rules both of the boys were put in the naughty chair 3 or 4 times each. At least we made it clear that we aren't messing around anymore! Hopefully they will be able to remember these rules and change some of their behaviour. Not that they are REALLY bad, but they do jump on the couch, yell in the house, hit each other, things that just aren't acceptable. So wish me luck that I will be able to stick with this. I'm trying just about everything I can to make life easier for when this baby comes. :)

Wedding pictures

A few more wedding pictures

MEXICO!!

A few weeks ago we were able to go to Puerto Vallarta. My first stamp in my passport! Brian won a trip through work, so we couldn't really pass it up, even though I was so big and pregnant! We stayed at an all expense paid resort right on the beach, it was beautiful! The weather was great and we had a GREAT time. His company also paid for everyone to go on a zip line excursion while we were there. That is they paid for everyone who wasn't pregnant... There wasn't a lot for me to do, other than lay out by the pool and eat lots of good mexican food, darn, :) I was a little disappointed that the hotel spa wouldn't give me a massage or pedicure. They were worried about the pressure points putting me into labor... Oh well.
A BIG thank you to Brian's parents for watching the kids so we could go on this trip. We know they had a lot going on, trying to plan a wedding and all. Thanks again!
We aren't very good at taking a lot of pictures, so here are just a few snap shots of us in paradise! Remember, I am like really pregnant... I'm not usually this chubby :)

Mother's Day

What a sweet family I have! I woke up Sunday morning to Brian and the kids making omlets for breakfast. Brian even let the kids help, which made it even more special. Dallin got to cut the bell peppers, and he was very good with the knife and didn't cut anything but the bell peppers (I was a little nervous about that). Cody got to mix the eggs and put the cheese on the omlets.
Brian and his dad even made lunch and everyone helped with dinner. It was such a nice break. Oh, the BEST part was Brian did the dishes!! (A job he HATES!) The kids also gave me back rubs! I felt pretty pampered all day. Thanks guys, I love you!

Locusts

Cody is so into bugs it's not even funny. He thinks all the rolly-pollies are his "friends." He has pretty much no fear of picking up the bugs and letting them crawl on him. YUCK! I'm not a bug person, in fact the thought of having a bug crawl on me about sends me over the edge. Well, here in St. Louis we have found that there in no shortage of locust bugs. The kids spend time each day sitting by the storm door watching for the little buggers to crawl around. The Locusts shed a shell in the morning (or evening) and then they have wings so they can fly. So not only do we get the joy of having the bugs around, but we also have all these little locust "skins," as the kids like to call them. Anyway, here are a few pictures of Cody with his "friends."

Wedding

A few weeks ago we were in Utah for Katie's wedding. (That's Brian's sister) She got married in the Salt Lake Temple and it was beautiful! The weather was great and she looked amazing too.
A few days before the wedding I flew to Utah with my mother-in-law and Brylee. Then Brian got to drive (for two days) with his dad and Dallin and Cody. I don't envy him...
We had a good time seeing family and letting the kids play with their cousins, even if it was only for one day. We don't have many pictures from the trip yet, but here is one family picture. Hopefully we will be taking a nicer family picture soon, like after the baby is here and the baby weight is gone! :)
